Independent Quality Assurance Consulting

Independent quality assurance consulting for owners, EPCMs and operators on high-consequence projects — bringing lead auditors, inspectors and QMS practitioners onto your programme to design, verify and defend the quality that contract, code and regulator all demand.

Overview

What is independent quality assurance consulting?

Independent QA consulting means bringing an outside, discipline-qualified team onto your project or organisation to design the quality system, verify that work actually conforms, and produce evidence that stands up to owner, regulator and certification-body scrutiny — without the conflicts of interest a contractor's own QA carries.

Jags Assurance is an independent QA consultancy for capital projects and regulated operations — energy, infrastructure, data centres, aviation and manufacturing. We are not a software-testing firm and we are not FDA-only. We work owner-side and EPCM-side to build project and corporate quality management systems, prepare and approve Inspection and Test Plans, run third-party inspection and audits, close out non-conformances, and hand over defensible quality records. Engagements range from a two-week ITP and vendor-surveillance sprint to multi-year, multi-site QMS and audit programmes across North America, the Middle East, India and the UK.

Delivered against ISO 9001 for management-system requirements, ISO 19011 for audit methodology and ISO/IEC 17020 for inspection-body competence, supplemented by client, contract and sector-specific criteria — the standard is the floor, not the full scope.

Engagement flow

From scoping call to defensible quality record.

Every consulting engagement follows the same discipline: fix the evidence model up front, execute with qualified practitioners, and close every finding with proof.

  1. STEP 01
    Scope & assess

Independent review of your contract, standards and current quality posture; scoped engagement plan with deliverables and evidence model agreed before work begins.

  2. STEP 02
    Mobilise

Deploy qualified consultants, lead auditors and inspectors — matched to the discipline, standard and region — on your project or into your organisation.

  3. STEP 03
    Execute & verify

Design or refresh the QMS, run inspections and audits, raise and track non-conformances, and produce defensible written evidence at every step.

  4. STEP 04
    Close & hand over

Verify closure of every finding, compile the quality dossier and hand over records that stand up to owner, regulator and certification-body scrutiny.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Delivered across North America, with India and the UAE coming soon.

What does an independent quality assurance consultant actually do?

An independent QA consultant works outside the contractor or supplier being assessed — designing the quality system, preparing and approving Inspection and Test Plans, running third-party inspection and audits, and producing defensible evidence that work conforms to contract, code and applicable standards. The independence is what makes the evidence usable by owners, regulators and certification bodies.

When should we bring in an independent QA consultant?

Common triggers include a new capital project where the owner cannot rely on contractor self-reporting, preparation for ISO 9001 certification or a customer audit, a pattern of recurring non-conformances that internal teams have not been able to close, or a regulatory or client requirement for independent verification of quality on a specific scope.

How is Jags Assurance different from software-QA or FDA-only consultancies?

Jags Assurance is an engineering and project quality consultancy for high-consequence physical work — energy, infrastructure, data centres, aviation, manufacturing. We are not a software-testing firm and our scope is not limited to FDA or medical-device work. Where those specialist consultancies fit their niche, our team fits capital projects, regulated operations and multi-site industrial QMS.

What industries and standards do you cover?

We work across oil and gas, power and utilities, construction, data centres, aviation and airports, healthcare manufacturing and general manufacturing — against ISO 9001, ISO 19011, ISO/IEC 17020, ASME, API, AWS D1.1, NACE/AMPP, AS9100 and IATF 16949, supplemented by client and contract-specific criteria.

Do you deliver as advisory only, or embed with our team?

Both. Some engagements are scoped advisory work — a gap analysis, an ITP package, a certification-readiness sprint. Others are embedded, where our lead auditors, inspectors or QA managers sit alongside your project or operations team for the duration of a project or programme.

Which regions do you support?

We deliver across North America from our Mississauga (Ontario) and Austin (Texas) offices, with active coverage in the Middle East, India and the UK for source inspection, site oversight and multi-country audit programmes.
