Gap review
Review your current controls against ISO 9001 and the owner's prequalification criteria.
Contractor QMS
Owners, general contractors and public agencies ask for ISO 9001 or an equivalent quality management system in prequalification. Build a right-sized QMS that addresses the quality section of your next bid.
US & Canada
Small firms can lose bids when their quality submission does not meet an owner's, GC's or public agency's prequalification criteria. The first step is to establish what the specific buyer requires: ISO 9001 certification, an equivalent QMS, or evidence of particular controls.
For general contractors, subcontractors and specialty trades, and engineering and design consultants, we build procedures and evidence around the work you actually deliver. Your system is sized to your scope and risks, not to a generic manual.

Build a usable quality manual, procedures and records that reflect your delivery scope.
Prepare templates you can tailor to project specifications, responsibilities and hold points.
Audit the system, record findings and support a management review based on evidence.
Rehearse evidence review and interviews, then prioritize remaining gaps. A mock audit is not a certification decision.
Support preparation and responses through your chosen certification body's Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits.
Choose the path that fits the buyer's requirements and your business priorities.
An ISO 9001-aligned QMS without certification, with procedures and evidence for a buyer that accepts an equivalent system. Acceptance remains the buyer's decision.
Build and exercise your QMS, complete internal audit and management review, rehearse the audit, and prepare for the certification body's assessment. Certification is not guaranteed.
Jags Assurance is independent of certification bodies. We prepare you; the certificate is issued by an accredited certification body you choose.
Scope and scheduling depend on your current system, available evidence and certification-body arrangements. No duration or audit outcome is guaranteed.

Support your chosen certification body's Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits; it makes the certification decision.
Requirements vary by buyer and scope. Readiness support does not guarantee bid acceptance or certification.
It depends on the tender and prequalification criteria. Some buyers require certification; others accept an equivalent QMS or specified quality evidence. Check the buyer's written requirements before choosing a path.
ISO 9001 can apply to a small subcontractor. The QMS should reflect its scope and risks, while meeting applicable requirements. An accredited certification body assesses the system and makes the certification decision.
A QMS is the set of processes and controls used to manage quality. ISO 9001 certification is an independent certification body's assessment of conformity. An aligned QMS without certification may suit a prequalification only when the buyer accepts it.
Cost depends on your scope, current readiness, audit requirements and the certification body's quote. Consulting and certification-body fees are separate. See our ISO 9001 certification cost guide for the factors to consider; no price or outcome is guaranteed.
